(Light candles, burn incense, have a bowl of water and towel out, then use something to get everyone’s attention to start. Children can have instruments during the music part and sing along. There can be prayer stations depending on space. At the very least an art station for kids and adults and the main prayer station. Also, iconic art can be on the TV screen, or can play visual liturgy. All of this is dependent on the culture.)
Opening Prayer (Have someone open in prayer)
A Few Songs (Can be one person or several in the group w/suggestions and/or choruses and prayers from different ones. Acapella if no one plays an instrument.)
Could intersperse within or in between songs some liturgy or a Psalm, whether that is from a leader or from someone else. Also, prophecy, tongues and interpretation may be appropriate here. *Hand out Liturgy Rotation and Gospel Centered Songs.
A Time of Sharing can follow, which would also be an appropriate time to share a revelation or even a dream, art, poetry, or spoken word.
Readings from Scripture (Torah, Prophets/Writings, Gospels/Letters)
Comments from everyone on what was read
Short Teaching and/or explanation from an Elder (Engage the kids whenever possible.)
The Lord’s Prayer, Amidah, the Creed, or Shema (Rotate) *Another handout (Maybe have Communion run down on it too).
Communion (Could be done here or over a meal at the end.)
Thanksgiving for the Gifts
(Communion Elements are held, each individually raised during their Blessing, and then both at the same time placed on the Altar/Communion Table.)
We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who creates the fruit of the vine. As we drink let us be filled with the knowledge of your sacrifice that our deeds may imitate the One who offers forgiveness through His blood; Who has given us the Way to deliverance from the wrath to come in Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah. Amen. (1 Chronicles 29:10-13; Psalm 119:12; Matthew 26:29; Mark 14:2; Luke 22:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; 1 Timothy 1:17)
Blessed be our God forever!
We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth. As this broken bread was scattered upon the mountains (as seed) and gathered together as one bundle of wheat, so may Your assembly be gathered together from the ends of the earth into Your kingdom. For Yours is the glory and the power through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah forever and ever. Amen. (Didache) (1 Chronicles 29:10-13; Psalm 104:14, 119:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; 1 Timothy 1:17)
Blessed be our God forever!
Through Your goodness, we have this bread, and this fruit of the vine to offer: which the earth has given, and human hands have made. (1 Chronicles 29:10-13; Psalm 65:11; 104:14, 119:12; Matthew 26:29; Mark 14:2; Luke 22:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; 1 Timothy 1:17)
Blessed be our God forever!
The Great Thanksgiving (Eucharist)
All glory be unto You, Almighty God, our Father in heaven, for You, of Your tender mercy, did give your only Son Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah to suffer death on the cross for our redemption; who made there by His one oblation of himself once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memory of his precious death and sacrifice, until His coming again. Amen.
Words of Institution
The Lord Jesus (Yeshua), the same night in which He was betrayed, took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said:
“Take, eat; this is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”
And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying:
“Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for you, for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” (Matthew 26:28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25)
For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until His return. (1 Corinthians 11:26)
Confession of Sin (Anglican)
Let us bow and humbly confess our sins to Almighty God:
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. (Psalm 32:5; 41:4; 69:5; 80:19; 91:1; Matthew 11:25; James 4:17)
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as Ourselves. (Matthew 22:37-39; Luke 10:27)
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus (Yeshua) the
Messiah,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.
*Take a moment to confess individual sins that come to mind: and resolve to take action where necessary.
Invitation to Communion
All repentant followers of Jesus (Yeshua) are invited to receive Communion. (John 1:12; 3:16, 36; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 18:20)
Communion Song and Distribution of the Elements
*Sing a Gospel Centered Worship Song while the elements are being distributed.
With the distribution of the bread: The body of Christ (Messiah), given for you.
With the distribution of the cup: The blood of Christ (Messiah), shed for you.
Absolution
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who in his great mercy has promised forgiveness of sins to all those who sincerely repent and with true faith turn to him, have mercy on us, pardon and deliver us from all your sins, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness, and bring us to everlasting life; through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Lord. Amen.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9; 4:15) There is therefore now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
We hear the words of our Lord, “Your sins are forgiven. Go: and sin no more.”
Praise Reports & Prayer Requests
Prayers with Song (Can be communal prayer for government, Israel, each other, or gather around each one that has a need/prayers for healing) *Hand out Biblical Prayers.
Blessing before Meal (Someone prays this prayer or something like it.)
Blessed are you, O Lord God, King of the universe. He gives nourishment to all flesh, for His kindness is eternal. And through His great goodness, we have never lacked, and may we never lack nourishment for all eternity. For the sake of His Great Name, because He is God Who nourishes and sustains all, and benefits all, and He prepares food for all His creatures which He has created. And it is said: “You open Your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.” Blessed are You, O Lord, Who nourishes all. Amen.
Remember, Lord, Your assembly, and deliver it from all evil and perfect it in Your love. Gather it— which You have made holy—together from the four winds into your kingdom which you have prepared for it. For yours is the power and the glory forever and ever.
May Grace come! And may this age pass away. Hosanna to the God of David! If any man is holy, let him come; if any man is not, he should change his mind. Maranatha! (Didache)
