Week 3_Day 6

Morning

{Noon} {Evening}

I will raise myself up from this bed of sleep, to adore my God, and to labor for the salvation of my soul. O may I rise on the last day unto eternal life. Amen.

Repeated Stanzas (Tropars) to the Holy Trinity & Thrice Holy (Trisagion)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Having risen from sleep we worship You, O Good One, and we sing with the angels and the living creatures (the seraphim and the cherubim), a hymn to You: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord, the all-powerful God, who was and is and is coming!” (Revelation 4:8)

The Jesus Prayer

O Lord Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah), Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Lord, Have Mercy (Kyrie Eleison)

Lord, have mercy, Christ (the Messiah) have mercy, Lord have mercy. (Luke 18:13)

I am nothing without you. I can’t do anything apart from you. I have no goodness of my own. I need you. I want you. I am desperate for you every moment of every day. Whatever I face today, whether poverty or plenty, in any situation: I can do all things through Christ (the Messiah) who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

You created my innermost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13;16) You care for me. I am precious to You, made in Your image with honor. (Matthew 6:26; Psalms 8:4-5) You love me. (Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:9-10)

Morning Sacrifice – stand facing east toward Jerusalem and the future Temple (burn incense, light a candle, ring a bell, or sound a trumpet/shofar; have wine/juice and cracker/matzo ready)

Hear (Shema)

Listen and obey, Israel! The Lord is our God, The Lord alone! So love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning. Write down copies and tie them to your wrists and foreheads to help you obey them. Write these laws on the door frames of your homes and on your town gates…  I command you to love others as much as you love yourself. I am the Lord.  (Deut. 6:4-9; Lev. 19:18; Luke 10:27 CEV)

The Lord’s Prayer – Expanded

Forgive all our debts in that year of Jubilee; Wipe our crimes clean against Your Majesty; Heal the sick, set the prisoners free; The punishment of death, throw into the fiery sea

Sacrificial Gift (Korbanot)

Master of the Worlds, You commanded Israel to bring the daily offering at its appointed time; and have the priests perform their service, and the Levites to sing and play music on the platform. And now, because of Your covenant discipline, the Holy Temple is destroyed, and the daily offering discontinued; we have neither a priest at his service, nor a Levite on his platform, nor an Israelite at his station.

Think of my prayer as sweet-smelling incense, and think of my lifted hands as an evening (or morning) sacrifice. (Psalm 141:2 CEV)

Restore the service to the inner sanctuary of your Temple, and receive in love and with favor both the fire-offerings of Israel and their prayers.

Please be willing, Lord, to help the city of Zion and to rebuild its walls. Then you will be pleased with the proper sacrifices, and we will offer bulls on your altar once again. (Psalm 51:18-19)

The Great Thanksgiving (Eucharist)

All glory be unto You, Almighty God, our Father in heaven, for You, of Your tender mercy, did give your only Son Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah to suffer death on the cross for our redemption; who made there by His one oblation of himself once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memory of his precious death and sacrifice, until His coming again. Amen.

Confession of Sin & Absolution

Let us bow and humbly confess our sins to Almighty God:

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Take a moment to confess individual sins that come to mind.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who in his great mercy has promised forgiveness of sins to all those who sincerely repent and with true faith turn to him, have mercy upon us, pardon and deliver us from all your sins, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness, and bring us to everlasting life; through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Lord. Amen.

We hear the words of our Lord, “Your sins are forgiven. Go: and sin no more.”

Blessing over the Wine (raise the cup and recite)

We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who creates the fruit of the vine. As we drink let us be filled with the knowledge of your sacrifice that our deeds may imitate the One who offers forgiveness through His blood; Who has given us the Way to deliverance from the wrath to come in Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah. Amen.

Blessing over the Bread (raise the bread or cracker and break)

We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth. We give you thanks, our Father, for the life and knowledge which You made known to us through Your Son Jesus (Yeshua). Yours is the glory forever and ever. As this broken bread was scattered upon the mountains (as seed) and gathered together as one bundle of wheat, so may Your assembly be gathered together from the ends of the earth into Your kingdom. For Yours is the glory and the power through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah forever and ever. Amen. (Didache)

Song of the Bible

Habakkuk

I know your reputation, Lord, and I am amazed at what you have done.
Please turn from your anger and be merciful; do for us what you did for our ancestors.

You are the same Holy God who came from Teman and Paran to help us.
The brightness of your glory covered the heavens,
and your praises were heard everywhere on earth.
Your glory shone like the sun, and light flashed from your hands, hiding your mighty power.
Dreadful diseases and plagues marched in front and followed behind.
When you stopped, the earth shook; when you stared, nations trembled;
when you walked along your ancient paths, eternal mountains and hills crumbled and collapsed.

…You split the earth apart with rivers and streams; mountains trembled at the sight of you;
rain poured from the clouds; ocean waves roared and rose.
The sun and moon stood still, while your arrows and spears flashed like lightning.

In your furious anger, you trampled on nations to rescue your people and save your chosen one.
You crushed a nation’s ruler and stripped his evil kingdom of its power.
His troops had come like a storm, hoping to scatter us and glad to gobble us up.
To them we were refugees in hiding— but you smashed their heads with their own weapons.
Then your chariots churned the waters of the sea.

When I heard this message, I felt weak from fear, and my lips quivered.
My bones seemed to melt, and I stumbled around. But I will patiently wait.
Someday those vicious enemies will be struck by disaster.

Fig trees may no longer bloom, or vineyards produce grapes;
olive trees may be fruitless, and harvest time a failure;
sheep pens may be empty, and cattle stalls vacant—
but I will still celebrate because the Lord God is my Savior. The Lord gives me strength.
He makes my feet as sure as those of a deer, and he helps me stand on the mountains. (Habakkuk 3:1-19 CEV)

Scripture Reading

Torah Portion – follow the daily Torah portion for the week.

Out of Zion shall come forth the Torah (Law), and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. Blessed are You, Lord our God, who gave the Torah (Law) to His people Israel in holiness.

Scripture Prayer – Consecration

I pray to you, Lord! Please listen when I pray and hurry to help me. Think of my prayer as sweet-smelling incense, and think of my lifted hands as an evening sacrifice. Help me to guard my words whenever I say something. Don’t let me want to do evil or waste my time doing wrong with wicked people. Don’t let me even taste the good things they offer. (Ps 141:1–4 CEV)

Pray this scripture for yourself and specific names of others.

The Great Vigil of Easter: God’s Presence in a renewed Israel

O God, you led Your ancient people by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night; Grant that we, who serve You now on earth, may come to the joy of new Jerusalem, where all tears are wiped away and where Your holy people forever sing Your praise, through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Protection

O Lord, Lover of men, and by Your loving-kindness I strive to do Your work today, and I ask You: help us at all times, in everything, and deliver us from every evil grief and distress of heart, and every attack of the devil, surround us by Your holy angels, that we may be guarded and guided, and lead me into Your eternal Kingdom. For You are my Creator, the Giver and Provider of everything good, and all my hope is in You, and to You I send up glory, now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Come, Creator Spirit (Veni Creator Spiritus)

Come, Holy Spirit, Creator come, from your bright heavenly throne! Come, take possession of our souls, and make them all your own. Far from us drive our hellish foe, true peace unto us bring, and through all perils guide us safe beneath your sacred wing. Through you may we the Father know, through you the eternal Son and you the Spirit of them both, three times blessed, three in One.

Benediction

To those who have been called, who are loved in God the Father and kept for Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah): Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. (Jude 1-2)

Creed

I believe (trust) in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in (obey) one Lord, Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah,
the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, being of one essence with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation (from the wrath to come), he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe (trust) in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.I believe in (acknowledge) one, holy, universal and apostolic assembly. (the coming Commonwealth of Israel)
I confess one baptism (of repentance) for the forgiveness of sins
and I wait for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Standing Prayer (Amidah) – 1st Prayer

Blessed are you, O Lord our God and God of our fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the great, mighty and revered God, the Most High God who bestows loving-kindnesses, the creator of all things, who remembers the good deeds of the patriarchs and in love will bring a redeemer to their children’s children for his name’s sake. O king, helper, savior and shield.

Blessed are you, O Lord, the shield of Abraham.

Baptism Questions  (Remembering your baptism: you may want to dip your hand or fingers in a bowl of water and recite these again)

Do you renounce Satan and all the spiritual forces of wickedness that rebel against God?

I renounce them

Do you renounce the evil powers of this world which corrupt and destroy the creatures of God?

I renounce them

Do renounce all sinful desires that draw you from the love of God, and that are deserving of the coming wrath of God?

I renounce them

Do you put your whole trust in the mercy and forgiveness of God shown to you through the sacrifice of the Messiah?

I do

Do you promise to be loyal to Him no matter what may come, whether persecution or death?

I do

Do you promise to follow and obey Him as your Lord, the coming King of Israel, who will reward and resurrect your body on that Day to live on the restored earth?

I do

We thank you, Almighty God, for the gift of water. Over it the Holy Spirit moved in the beginning of creation. Through it you led the children of Israel out of their bondage in Egypt into the land of promise. In it Your Son Jesus (Yeshua) received the baptism of John and was anointed by the Holy Spirit as the Messiah, to lead us, through his death and resurrection, from the bondage of sin into everlasting life.

We thank you, Father, for the water of baptism. In it we are buried with the Messiah in His death. By it we will share in His bodily resurrection, and will be reborn by the Holy Spirit. We receive now a deposit of the powers of that coming age. Therefore in joyful obedience to Your Son, we bring into His fellowship those who come to HIm in faith, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Now set apart this water, we pray, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that those who are cleansed from sin may continue forever unto the risen life of Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Savior. Amen.

Song of a Biblical Text

Polycarp

O Lord God Almighty, the Father of Your most loved and blessed Son, Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah, through whom we have received the knowledge of You, the God of angels and powers and of all creation and of the whole race of the righteous, who live in Your presence; I bless You for You have granted me this day and hour, that I might receive a portion amongst the number of martyrs in the cup of Your Messiah unto the resurrection of eternal life, both of soul and of body, in the incorruptibility of the Holy Spirit. May I be received among these in Your presence this day, as a rich and acceptable sacrifice, as You prepared and revealed it beforehand, and have accomplished it, You are the faithful and true God. For this cause, yes and for all things, I praise You, I bless You, I glorify You, through the eternal and heavenly High-priest, Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah, Your most loved Son, through whom with Him and the Holy Spirit be glory both now and for the ages to come. Amen. (Martyrdom of Polycarp 14-1-3)

Scripture Prayer – Leaders

O Lord, grant to all kings and rulers health, peace, concord, and stability, that they may administer the government you have given them without failure. For you, O heavenly Master, King of the Ages, give the sons of men glory and honor and authority over all things that are on the earth. Lord, direct their counsel according to what is good and pleasing in your sight, that administering the authority you have given them, in peace and gentleness, with godliness, they may obtain your favor. You alone are able to do these things, and things far greater than these for us. We praise you, through the High Priest and Guardian of our souls, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah); through him be glory and majesty to you, both now and for all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (1st Clement)

Pray this scripture for Governmental or any other leaders by name.

Last Sunday after the Epiphany

O God, who before the passion of Your only begotten Son revealed His glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us that we, beholding by faith the light of His face, having the words of the prophets more confirmed as a light in a dark place, may be strengthened to bear our cross, and to hold out this light in a dark world: the hope of the coming of His glory and majestic kingdom; through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Lord, who lives with You and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come… and from Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah), who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. (Revelation 1:4-5a)

Bedtime Prayer

Grant us, Lord, the lamp of mercy which never fails, that it may burn in us and shed its light on those around us, and that by its brightness we may have a vision of that holy City, where dwells the true and never-failing Light, the Lamb of God, Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Lord. Amen.
