Week 2_Day 7

Morning

{Noon} {Evening}

I will raise myself up from this bed of sleep, to adore my God, and to labor for the salvation of my soul. O may I rise on the last day unto eternal life. Amen.

Repeated Stanzas (Tropars) to the Holy Trinity & Thrice Holy (Trisagion)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Having risen from sleep we worship You, O Good One, and we sing with the angels and the living creatures (the seraphim and the cherubim), a hymn to You: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord, the all-powerful God, who was and is and is coming!” (Revelation 4:8)

The Jesus Prayer

O Lord Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah), Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Lord, Have Mercy (Kyrie Eleison)

Lord, have mercy, Christ (the Messiah) have mercy, Lord have mercy. (Luke 18:13)

I am nothing without you. I can’t do anything apart from you. I have no goodness of my own. I need you. I want you. I am desperate for you every moment of every day. Whatever I face today, whether poverty or plenty, in any situation: I can do all things through Christ (the Messiah) who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

You created my innermost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13;16) You care for me. I am precious to You, made in Your image with honor. (Matthew 6:26; Psalms 8:4-5) You love me. (Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:9-10)

Morning Sacrifice – stand facing east toward Jerusalem and the future Temple (burn incense, light a candle, ring a bell, or sound a trumpet/shofar; have wine/juice and cracker/matzo ready)

Hear (Shema)

Listen and obey, Israel! The Lord is our God, The Lord alone! So love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning. Write down copies and tie them to your wrists and foreheads to help you obey them. Write these laws on the door frames of your homes and on your town gates…  I command you to love others as much as you love yourself. I am the Lord.  (Deut. 6:4-9; Lev. 19:18; Luke 10:27 CEV)

The Lord’s Prayer – Expanded

And in that great hour of trial; Don’t let us get distracted or deceived; Give us strength to keep saying yes; Rescue us from our enemies

Sacrificial Gift (Korbanot)

Master of the Worlds, You commanded Israel to bring the daily offering at its appointed time; and have the priests perform their service, and the Levites to sing and play music on the platform. And now, because of Your covenant discipline, the Holy Temple is destroyed, and the daily offering discontinued; we have neither a priest at his service, nor a Levite on his platform, nor an Israelite at his station.

Think of my prayer as sweet-smelling incense, and think of my lifted hands as an evening (or morning) sacrifice. (Psalm 141:2 CEV)

Restore the service to the inner sanctuary of your Temple, and receive in love and with favor both the fire-offerings of Israel and their prayers.

Please be willing, Lord, to help the city of Zion and to rebuild its walls. Then you will be pleased with the proper sacrifices, and we will offer bulls on your altar once again. (Psalm 51:18-19)

The Great Thanksgiving (Eucharist)

All glory be unto You, Almighty God, our Father in heaven, for You, of Your tender mercy, did give your only Son Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah to suffer death on the cross for our redemption; who made there by His one oblation of himself once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memory of his precious death and sacrifice, until His coming again. Amen.

Confession of Sin & Absolution

Let us bow and humbly confess our sins to Almighty God:

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Take a moment to confess individual sins that come to mind.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who in his great mercy has promised forgiveness of sins to all those who sincerely repent and with true faith turn to him, have mercy upon us, pardon and deliver us from all your sins, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness, and bring us to everlasting life; through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Lord. Amen.

We hear the words of our Lord, “Your sins are forgiven. Go: and sin no more.”

Blessing over the Wine (raise the cup and recite)

We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who creates the fruit of the vine. As we drink let us be filled with the knowledge of your sacrifice that our deeds may imitate the One who offers forgiveness through His blood; Who has given us the Way to deliverance from the wrath to come in Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah. Amen.

Blessing over the Bread (raise the bread or cracker and break)

We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth. We give you thanks, our Father, for the life and knowledge which You made known to us through Your Son Jesus (Yeshua). Yours is the glory forever and ever. As this broken bread was scattered upon the mountains (as seed) and gathered together as one bundle of wheat, so may Your assembly be gathered together from the ends of the earth into Your kingdom. For Yours is the glory and the power through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah forever and ever. Amen. (Didache)

Song of the Bible

Judah’s Protection

Our city is protected. The Lord is our fortress, and he gives us victory.
Open the city gates for a law-abiding nation that is faithful to God.
The Lord gives perfect peace to those whose faith is firm.
So always trust the Lord because he is forever our mighty rock.
God has put down our enemies in their mountain city and rubbed it in the dirt.
Now the poor and abused trample all over that city.

Our Lord, you always do right, and you make the path smooth for those who obey you.
You are the one we trust to bring about justice; above all else we want your name to be honored.
Throughout the night, my heart searches for you, because your decisions show everyone on this earth how to live right.

Even when the wicked are treated with mercy in this land of justice,
they do wrong and are blind to your glory, our Lord.
Your hand is raised and ready to punish them, but they don’t see it. Put them to shame!
Show how much you care for us and throw them into the fire intended for your enemies.

You will give us peace, Lord, because everything we have done was by your power.
Others have ruled over us besides you, our Lord God, but we obey only you.
Those enemies are now dead and can never live again.
You have punished them— they are destroyed, completely forgotten.
Our nation has grown because of you, our Lord. We have more land than before, and you are honored.

When you punished our people, they turned and prayed to you, our Lord.
Because of what you did to us, we suffered like a woman about to give birth.
But instead of having a child, our terrible pain produced only wind.
We have won no victories, and we have no descendants to take over the earth.

Your people will rise to life! Tell them to leave their graves and celebrate with shouts.
You refresh the earth like morning dew; you give life to the dead. (Isaiah 26:1-19 CEV)

Scripture Reading

Torah Portion – follow the daily Torah portion for the week.

Out of Zion shall come forth the Torah (Law), and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. Blessed are You, Lord our God, who gave the Torah (Law) to His people Israel in holiness.

Scripture Prayer – Consecration

Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah), sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect (mature) and fully assured in all the will of God. For I testify for him that he has a deep concern for you and for those who are in Laodicea and Hierapolis. (Col 4:12-13 NASB)

Burial of the Dead: Rite Two (Additional Prayers)

Merciful God, Father of our Lord Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah who is the Resurrection and the Life: Raise us, we humbly pray, from the death of sin to the life of righteousness; that when we depart this life we may rest in Him, and at the resurrection receive that blessing which Your well-beloved Son will then pronounce: “Come, you blessed of my Father, receive the kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world.” Grant this, O merciful Father, through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah, our Mediator and Redeemer. Amen.

Prayer for Protection

O Lord, Lover of men, and by Your loving-kindness I strive to do Your work today, and I ask You: help us at all times, in everything, and deliver us from every evil grief and distress of heart, and every attack of the devil, surround us by Your holy angels, that we may be guarded and guided, and lead me into Your eternal Kingdom. For You are my Creator, the Giver and Provider of everything good, and all my hope is in You, and to You I send up glory, now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Come, Creator Spirit (Veni Creator Spiritus)

Come, Holy Spirit, Creator come, from your bright heavenly throne! Come, take possession of our souls, and make them all your own. Far from us drive our hellish foe, true peace unto us bring, and through all perils guide us safe beneath your sacred wing. Through you may we the Father know, through you the eternal Son and you the Spirit of them both, three times blessed, three in One.

Benediction

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come… and from Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah), who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. (Revelation 1:4-5a)

Creed

I believe (trust) in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in (obey) one Lord, Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah,
the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, being of one essence with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation (from the wrath to come), he came down from heaven,

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe (trust) in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.I believe in (acknowledge) one, holy, universal and apostolic assembly. (the coming Commonwealth of Israel)
I confess one baptism (of repentance) for the forgiveness of sins
and I wait for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Baptism Questions  (Remembering your baptism: you may want to dip your hand or fingers in a bowl of water and recite these again)

Do you renounce Satan and all the spiritual forces of wickedness that rebel against God?

I renounce them

Do you renounce the evil powers of this world which corrupt and destroy the creatures of God?

I renounce them

Do renounce all sinful desires that draw you from the love of God, and that are deserving of the coming wrath of God?

I renounce them

Do you put your whole trust in the mercy and forgiveness of God shown to you through the sacrifice of the Messiah?

I do

Do you promise to be loyal to Him no matter what may come, whether persecution or death?

I do

Do you promise to follow and obey Him as your Lord, the coming King of Israel, who will reward and resurrect your body on that Day to live on the restored earth?

I do

We thank you, Almighty God, for the gift of water. Over it the Holy Spirit moved in the beginning of creation. Through it you led the children of Israel out of their bondage in Egypt into the land of promise. In it Your Son Jesus (Yeshua) received the baptism of John and was anointed by the Holy Spirit as the Messiah, to lead us, through his death and resurrection, from the bondage of sin into everlasting life.

We thank you, Father, for the water of baptism. In it we are buried with the Messiah in His death. By it we will share in His bodily resurrection, and will be reborn by the Holy Spirit. We receive now a deposit of the powers of that coming age. Therefore in joyful obedience to Your Son, we bring into His fellowship those who come to HIm in faith, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Now set apart this water, we pray, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that those who are cleansed from sin may continue forever unto the risen life of Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Savior. Amen.

Song of the Bible

New Song

Then they sang a new song,

“You are worthy to receive the scroll and open its seals, because you were killed.
And with your own blood you bought for God people from every tribe, language, nation, and race.
You let them become kings and serve God as priests, and they will rule on earth.”

As I looked, I heard the voices of a large number of angels around the throne and the voices of the living creatures and of the elders. There were millions and millions of them, and they were saying in a loud voice,

“The Lamb who was killed is worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise.”

Then I heard all beings in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and in the sea offer praise. Together, all of them were saying,

“Praise, honor, glory, and strength forever and ever
to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 5:9-13 CEV)

Scripture Prayer – Leaders

First of all, I ask you to pray for everyone. Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them. Pray for kings and others in power, so we may live quiet and peaceful lives as we worship and honor God. This kind of prayer is good, and it pleases God our Savior. God wants everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth, which is: There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God. Jesus was truly human, and he gave himself to rescue all of us. God showed us this at the right time. (1 Timothy 2:1-6 CEV)

Pray this scripture for Governmental or any other leaders by name.

The Holy Eucharist: An Exhortation

Having in mind His great love for us, and in obedience to His command, His Assembly renders to Almighty God our Father in heaven never-ending thanks for the creation of the world, for His continual providence over us, for His love for all mankind, and for the redemption of the world by our Savior the Messiah, who took upon himself our flesh, and humbled himself even to death on the cross, that He might make us the children of God by the power of the Holy Spirit, and exalt us to everlasting life. Amen.

Iconic Image

Take a moment to let this image stir up your holy imagination.

Benediction

To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.  Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. (Revelation 21:6c-7)

Bedtime Prayer

The constant berating of my enemies, O Lord, you know, and of the weakness of my nature you have understanding, O my Creator. For behold, into Your hands I commit my soul that You may shield me under the wings of Your goodness lest I sleep unto death. Enlighten my eyes with the excellency of Your sayings, and raise me up to send up praise to You at all times, for You alone are good and the lover of mankind.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Your judgment O Lord is fearful, when people gathered, angels standing, books opened, works unveiled, and thoughts examined, what judgment is mine, who am found in sins, or who will quench the flame of fire; if You, O Lord, have no mercy on me? For You are compassionate toward mankind.

Both now and ever and unto the ages of ages, to Him be the glory! Amen.
