Week 1_Day 2

Morning

{Noon} {Evening}

I will raise myself up from this bed of sleep, to adore my God, and to labor for the salvation of my soul. O may I rise on the last day unto eternal life. Amen.

Repeated Stanzas (Tropars) to the Holy Trinity & Thrice Holy (Trisagion)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Having risen from sleep we worship You, O Good One, and we sing with the angels and the living creatures (the seraphim and the cherubim), a hymn to You: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord, the all-powerful God, who was and is and is coming!” (Revelation 4:8)

The Jesus Prayer

O Lord Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah), Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Lord, Have Mercy (Kyrie Eleison)

Lord, have mercy, Christ (the Messiah) have mercy, Lord have mercy. (Luke 18:13)

I am nothing without you. I can’t do anything apart from you. I have no goodness of my own. I need you. I want you. I am desperate for you every moment of every day. Whatever I face today, whether poverty or plenty, in any situation: I can do all things through Christ (the Messiah) who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

You created my innermost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13;16) You care for me. I am precious to You, made in Your image with honor. (Matthew 6:26; Psalms 8:4-5) You love me. (Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:9-10)

Morning Sacrifice – stand facing east toward Jerusalem and the future Temple (burn incense, light a candle, ring a bell, or sound a trumpet/shofar; have wine/juice and cracker/matzo ready)

Hear (Shema)

Listen and obey, Israel! The Lord is our God, The Lord alone! So love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning. Write down copies and tie them to your wrists and foreheads to help you obey them. Write these laws on the door frames of your homes and on your town gates…  I command you to love others as much as you love yourself. I am the Lord.  (Deut. 6:4-9; Lev. 19:18; Luke 10:27 CEV)

The Lord’s Prayer – Expanded

Father of Israel at the height of the heavens; You birthed Israel from Egypt; cause Your name to be feared; In the eyes of the nations; send a redeemer to their children; That in Israel all the families of the earth will be blessed.

Sacrificial Gift (Korbanot)

Master of the Worlds, You commanded Israel to bring the daily offering at its appointed time; and have the priests perform their service, and the Levites to sing and play music on the platform. And now, because of Your covenant discipline, the Holy Temple is destroyed, and the daily offering discontinued; we have neither a priest at his service, nor a Levite on his platform, nor an Israelite at his station.

Think of my prayer as sweet-smelling incense, and think of my lifted hands as an evening (or morning) sacrifice. (Psalm 141:2 CEV)

Restore the service to the inner sanctuary of your Temple, and receive in love and with favor both the fire-offerings of Israel and their prayers.

Please be willing, Lord, to help the city of Zion and to rebuild its walls. Then you will be pleased with the proper sacrifices, and we will offer bulls on your altar once again. (Psalm 51:18-19)

The Great Thanksgiving (Eucharist)

All glory be unto You, Almighty God, our Father in heaven, for You, of Your tender mercy, did give your only Son Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah to suffer death on the cross for our redemption; who made there by His one oblation of himself once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memory of his precious death and sacrifice, until His coming again. Amen.

Confession of Sin & Absolution

Let us bow and humbly confess our sins to Almighty God:

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Take a moment to confess individual sins that come to mind.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who in his great mercy has promised forgiveness of sins to all those who sincerely repent and with true faith turn to him, have mercy upon us, pardon and deliver us from all your sins, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness, and bring us to everlasting life; through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Lord. Amen.

We hear the words of our Lord, “Your sins are forgiven. Go: and sin no more.”

Blessing over the Wine (raise the cup and recite)

We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who creates the fruit of the vine. As we drink let us be filled with the knowledge of your sacrifice that our deeds may imitate the One who offers forgiveness through His blood; Who has given us the Way to deliverance from the wrath to come in Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah. Amen.

Blessing over the Bread (raise the bread or cracker and break)

We bless You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth. We give you thanks, our Father, for the life and knowledge which You made known to us through Your Son Jesus (Yeshua). Yours is the glory forever and ever. As this broken bread was scattered upon the mountains (as seed) and gathered together as one bundle of wheat, so may Your assembly be gathered together from the ends of the earth into Your kingdom. For Yours is the glory and the power through Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah forever and ever. Amen. (Didache)

Song of the Bible

Moses & Joshua

Earth and Sky, listen to what I say! Israel, I will teach you.
My words will be like gentle rain on tender young plants, or like dew on the grass.

Join with me in praising the wonderful name of the Lord our God.
The Lord is a mighty rock, and he never does wrong.

God can always be trusted to bring justice.

But you lie and cheat and are unfaithful to him.
You have disgraced yourselves and are no longer worthy to be his children.
Israel, the Lord is your Father, the one who created you, but you repaid him by being foolish.
Think about past generations. Ask your parents or any of your elders.
They will tell you that God Most High gave land to every nation.
He assigned a guardian angel (god) to each of them, but the Lord himself takes care of Israel.

Israel, the Lord discovered you in a barren desert filled with howling winds.
God became your fortress, protecting you as though you were his own eyes.
The Lord was like an eagle teaching its young to fly,

always ready to swoop down and catch them on its back.
Israel, the Lord led you, and without the aid of a foreign god, he helped you capture the land.

…Your wheat was the finest, and you drank the best wine.

Israel, you grew fat and rebelled against God, your Creator
you rejected the Mighty Rock, your only place of safety.
You made God jealous and angry by worshiping disgusting idols and foreign gods.

You offered sacrifices to demons, those useless gods that never helped you,
new gods that your ancestors never worshiped.

You turned away from God, your Creator; you forgot the Mighty Rock, the source of your life.
You were the Lord’s children, but you made him angry.
Then he rejected you and said, “You are unfaithful and can’t be trusted.
So I won’t answer your prayers; I’ll just watch and see what happens to you.

You worshiped worthless idols, and made me jealous and angry!
Now I will send a cruel and worthless nation to make you jealous and angry.

“My people, I will breathe out fire that sends you down to the world of the dead.
It will scorch your farmland, and burn deep down under the mountains.
I’ll send disaster after disaster to strike you like arrows.
You’ll be struck by starvation and deadly diseases,

by the fangs of wild animals and poisonous snakes.
Young and old alike will be killed in the streets and terrified at home.

…When only a few of the Lord’s people remain,

when their strength is gone, and some of them are slaves,
the Lord will feel sorry for them and give them justice.

Don’t you understand? I am the only God; there are no others.
I am the one who takes life and gives it again. I punished you with suffering.
But now I will heal you, and nothing can stop me!…Tell the heavens to celebrate and all gods to bow down to the Lord,
because he will take revenge on those hateful enemies who killed his people.
He will forgive the sins of Israel and purify their land. (Deuteronomy 32:1-43 CEV)

Scripture Reading

Torah Portion – follow the daily Torah portion for the week.

Out of Zion shall come forth the Torah (Law), and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. Blessed are You, Lord our God, who gave the Torah (Law) to His people Israel in holiness.

Scripture Prayer – Consecration

…and the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, just like a friend… Moses said to the Lord, “I know that you have told me to lead these people to the land you promised them. But you have not said who will go along to help me. You have said that you are my friend and that you are pleased with me. If this is true, let me know what your plans are, then I can obey and continue to please you. And don’t forget that you have chosen this nation to be your own.” (Ex 33:11–13 CEV)

Give Thanks (Hodu)

Give thanks to the LORD, proclaim His Name!

Make His deeds known among the nations. Sing to Him, compose songs to Him, speak of all His wonders. He is the LORD our God; the entire earth is governed by His laws. Remember His covenant forever— the word He commanded to a thousand generations— which He made as a treaty with Abraham, and [which was] His oath to Isaac. He established it for Jacob as a statute, for Israel as an everlasting covenant. Saying, To you I will give the Land of Canaan, the portion of your inheritance. When you were only few in number— very few, and strangers in it. They wandered from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people. He permitted no one to oppress them, and admonished kings for their sakes. Do not touch My anointed ones, and do not harm My prophets.”

Sing to the LORD all the earth, proclaim His deliverance from day to day!

Awesome is He above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, because the LORD made the heavens. The heavens will rejoice, the earth will exult, and they will proclaim among the nations: The LORD has begun His reign. The sea and its fullness will roar; the field and all that is in it will rejoice. Then the trees of the forest will sing with joy, [receding] before the LORD when He comes to judge the earth.

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His kindness is everlasting!

And say, “Deliver us, God of our deliverance; gather us and save us from the nations, to give thanks to Your holy Name, to be extolled in Your praise.” And He, the Merciful One, atones iniquity and does not destroy; He frequently withdraws His anger and does not arouse all His rage. You, the LORD, withhold not Your mercy from me; may Your kindness and Your truth always protect me. Give might to God, His majesty hovers over Israel, and His might is in the clouds. You are awesome, God, from Your Sanctuaries, Almighty of Israel—He grants might and power to the people; blessed is God. Almighty of vengeance, the LORD, Almighty of vengeance, reveal Yourself. Arise, Judge of the earth! Repay the arrogant their just reward. Deliverance is the LORD’s.

Deliver Your people and bless Your inheritance, tend them and uplift them forever!

Prayer for Protection

O Lord, Lover of men, and by Your loving-kindness I strive to do Your work today, and I ask You: help us at all times, in everything, and deliver us from every evil grief and distress of heart, and every attack of the devil, surround us by Your holy angels, that we may be guarded and guided, and lead me into Your eternal Kingdom. For You are my Creator, the Giver and Provider of everything good, and all my hope is in You, and to You I send up glory, now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Come, Creator Spirit (Veni Creator Spiritus)

Come, Holy Spirit, Creator come, from your bright heavenly throne! Come, take possession of our souls, and make them all your own. Far from us drive our hellish foe, true peace unto us bring, and through all perils guide us safe beneath your sacred wing. Through you may we the Father know, through you the eternal Son and you the Spirit of them both, three times blessed, three in One.

Benediction

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (the Messiah), who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. (Galatians 1:3-4)

Scripture Prayer – Mission

Lord, listen to their threats! We are your servants. So make us brave enough to speak your message. Show your mighty power, as we heal people and work miracles and wonders in the name of your holy Servant Jesus (Yeshua). After they had prayed, the meeting place shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and bravely spoke God’s message. (Act 4:29-31 CEV)

Creed

I believe (trust) in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in (obey) one Lord, Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah,
the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, being of one essence with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation (from the wrath to come), he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe (trust) in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.I believe in (acknowledge) one, holy, universal and apostolic assembly. (the coming Commonwealth of Israel)
I confess one baptism (of repentance) for the forgiveness of sins
and I wait for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Standing Prayer (Amidah) – 2nd Prayer

You, O Lord, are mighty forever, you revive the dead, you have the power to save. You sustain the living with lovingkindness, you revive the dead with great mercy, you support the falling, heal the sick, set free the bound and keep faith with those who sleep in the dust. Who is like you, O doer of mighty acts? Who resembles you, a king who puts to death and restores to life, and causes salvation to flourish? And you are certain to revive the dead.

Blessed are you, O Lord, who revives the dead.

Baptism Questions  (Remembering your baptism: you may want to dip your hand or fingers in a bowl of water and recite these again)

Do you renounce Satan and all the spiritual forces of wickedness that rebel against God?

I renounce them

Do you renounce the evil powers of this world which corrupt and destroy the creatures of God?

I renounce them

Do renounce all sinful desires that draw you from the love of God, and that are deserving of the coming wrath of God?

I renounce them

Do you put your whole trust in the mercy and forgiveness of God shown to you through the sacrifice of the Messiah?

I do

Do you promise to be loyal to Him no matter what may come, whether persecution or death?

I do

Do you promise to follow and obey Him as your Lord, the coming King of Israel, who will reward and resurrect your body on that Day to live on the restored earth?

I do

We thank you, Almighty God, for the gift of water. Over it the Holy Spirit moved in the beginning of creation. Through it you led the children of Israel out of their bondage in Egypt into the land of promise. In it Your Son Jesus (Yeshua) received the baptism of John and was anointed by the Holy Spirit as the Messiah, to lead us, through his death and resurrection, from the bondage of sin into everlasting life.

We thank you, Father, for the water of baptism. In it we are buried with the Messiah in His death. By it we will share in His bodily resurrection, and will be reborn by the Holy Spirit. We receive now a deposit of the powers of that coming age. Therefore in joyful obedience to Your Son, we bring into His fellowship those who come to HIm in faith, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Now set apart this water, we pray, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that those who are cleansed from sin may continue forever unto the risen life of Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah our Savior. Amen.

Song of the Bible

Zechariah’s Song

Praise the Lord, the God of Israel! He has come to save his people.
Our God has given us a mighty Savior from the family of David his servant.
Long ago the Lord promised by the words of his holy prophets
to save us from our enemies and from everyone who hates us.
God said he would be kind to our people and keep his sacred promise.
He told our ancestor Abraham that he would rescue us from our enemies.
Then we could serve him without fear, by being holy and good as long as we live. You, my son, will be called the prophet of God Most High.
You will go ahead of the Lord to get everything ready for him.
You will tell his people that they can be saved (rescued) when their sins are forgiven.
God’s love and kindness will shine upon us like the sun that rises in the sky.
On us who live in the dark shadow of death this light will shine
to guide us into a life of peace. (Luke 1:67-79 CEV)

Scripture Prayer – Redemption

In the past, you treated us with such kindness, that we now beg you to stop being so terribly angry with Jerusalem. After all, it is your chosen city built on your holy mountain, even though it has suffered public disgrace because of our sins and those of our ancestors. I am your servant, Lord God, and I beg you to answer my prayers and bring honor to yourself by having pity on your temple that lies in ruins. Please show mercy to your chosen city, not because we deserve it, but because of your great kindness. Forgive us! Hurry and do something, not only for your city and your chosen people, but to bring honor to yourself. (Da 9:16–19 CEV)

A Redeemer Shall Come to Zion (Uva Letzion)

The Redeemer shall come to Zion and to those of Jacob who repent from sin, says the LORD. As for Me, this is My covenant with them, said the LORD: My spirit which is on you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your children, nor from the mouth of your children’s children, said the LORD – from now to eternity. And You, Holy One, are enthroned upon the praises of Israel. And the angels call one to another and say:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts: the fullness of all the earth is His glory.”

And they respond one to another, and say, Holy in the highest heights of heaven, the home of His Divine Presence; holy upon earth, the work of His mighty power; holy forever and to all eternity— is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is filled with the radiance of His glory. And a wind lifted me; and I heard behind me the sound of a great rushing;

Blessed is the glory of the LORD from His place.

May it be Your will, LORD, our God, and God of the fathers, that we keep Your statutes in this world, and [thus] be privileged to live and behold, and to inherit the goodness and blessing of the Messianic days, and in the life of the World to Come. In order that my soul sing to You and not be stilled; LORD, my God, forever will I thank You. Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, so that the LORD is his security. Trust in the LORD until the end of days, for in God, the LORD, is the strength of the worlds. The LORD desired, for the sake of His righteousness, to make the Torah (Law) great and to glorify it.

May His kingdom be established forever and to all eternity.

Benediction

May the Lord strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus (Yeshua) comes with all his holy ones.  (1 Thessalonians 3:13 CEV)

Bedtime Prayer

The constant berating of my enemies, O Lord, you know, and of the weakness of my nature you have understanding, O my Creator. For behold, into Your hands I commit my soul that You may shield me under the wings of Your goodness lest I sleep unto death. Enlighten my eyes with the excellency of Your sayings, and raise me up to send up praise to You at all times, for You alone are good and the lover of mankind.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Your judgment O Lord is fearful, when people gathered, angels standing, books opened, works unveiled, and thoughts examined, what judgment is mine, who am found in sins, or who will quench the flame of fire; if You, O Lord, have no mercy on me? For You are compassionate toward mankind.

Both now and ever and unto the ages of ages, to Him be the glory! Amen.
